In The New Adventures of Old Christine season 4 episode 3 titled "White Like Me," Christine decides to enroll Ritchie in a private school that has a much better reputation than his current public school. However, when she and Matthew go to the school for an interview, they notice that the student body is mostly white, and Christine starts to worry that Ritchie won't fit in.
As a solution, Christine decides to pose as a British woman and pretend that Ritchie is half-English in order to increase his chances of being accepted into the school. However, as she becomes more and more entrenched in her lies, she realizes that she's also jeopardizing her own reputation.
Meanwhile, Richard and Matthew are tasked with taking care of Ritchie's science project - an egg - and they come up with a number of increasingly ridiculous ways to make sure that the egg doesn't break.
The episode also features a subplot involving Barb, who starts dating a much younger man and becomes worried about whether or not she's too old for him. Between all of these hijinks, "White Like Me" is a hilarious and heartwarming episode of this beloved sitcom.
