Ep 4. Traffic

Christine Campbell (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), a divorced mother and owner of a women's gym, faces another challenge in The New Adventures of Old Christine season 3 episode 4, titled "Traffic." Christine tries to keep up with her son Ritchie's (Trevor Gagnon) schedule and make it to his soccer game on time. However, L.A. traffic proves to be a difficult obstacle to overcome.

As she gets stuck in traffic, Christine discovers that her ex-husband Richard (Clark Gregg) has moved on with his life and started dating a woman named Becky (Jessica St. Clair). Meanwhile, Christine has trouble finding love and has not had a successful date in years. Her frustration and jealousy toward Richard's new relationship with Becky cause her to make impulsive decisions while driving.

In an attempt to get to Ritchie's game on time, Christine decides to use the carpool lane even though she's driving alone. She gets pulled over by a police officer (Michael Trucco) and tries to argue her way out of the ticket. The officer is not impressed by Christine's excuses and ultimately gives her a ticket. Christine's desperation to make it to the soccer game on time leads her to an even worse decision that further complicates her day.

Meanwhile, Christine's brother Matthew (Hamish Linklater) is struggling with his own love life. He has been seeing his therapist, Dr. Max Kershaw (Eric McCormack), who he has developed romantic feelings for. However, Dr. Kershaw is married, and Matthew is torn between his feelings and his conscience.

As the day goes on, Christine's stress levels continue to rise and she becomes increasingly irritable with everyone around her. She takes out her frustrations on her best friend Barb (Wanda Sykes), who is also Ritchie's soccer coach. Christine accuses Barb of sabotaging her chances with Richard, which causes tension between the two friends.

Throughout the episode, each character faces their own personal struggles, and all of their problems culminate in a series of hilarious and chaotic interactions. The New Adventures of Old Christine season 3 episode 4 is a witty and relatable portrayal of the everyday challenges of love and life.
