Ep 8. Pho Is in the Air

Pho Is in the Air is the eighth episode of the first season of The New Adventures of Figaro Pho. The show revolves around the life of a quirky and imaginative character named Figaro Pho, who is constantly exposed to various irrational fears.

In this episode, Figaro tries to conquer his phobia of flying, which is triggered when he finds out that he needs to travel by airplane to meet his cousin in another city. He starts to imagine all sorts of worst-case scenarios, such as the plane crashing, turbulence, engine failure, and so on - all of which only further intensify his fear of flying.

Figaro decides to seek treatment for his phobia at a clinic run by a specialist named Dr. Brawn. However, things take an unexpected turn when he finds out that the clinic is located on the top floor of a tall skyscraper, and the only way to get there is by taking an elevator. Due to his claustrophobia, Figaro starts to panic at the thought of stepping into the elevator and decides to take the stairs instead.

As he climbs up the stairs, he comes across a series of peculiar characters who each have their own unique phobias. He first meets a man with agoraphobia, who fears open spaces and refuses to leave the stairwell. Next, he meets a woman with acrophobia, who fears heights and refuses to climb any higher. Finally, he meets a man with aerophobia, who fears flying and refuses to go anywhere near airplanes.

Despite their fears, Figaro manages to convince them to face their phobias and confront their fears head-on. He helps the man with agoraphobia to step outside the stairwell and into the fresh air, and the woman with acrophobia to climb up to the next floor using a makeshift bridge. Thanks to Figaro, they both manage to overcome their fears and continue their journey.

Figaro continues climbing up the stairs until he reaches the top floor, where he meets Dr. Brawn. At first, he is intimidated by the doctor's imposing appearance, but soon discovers that Dr. Brawn is actually a kind and gentle person who helps Figaro overcome his fear of flying.

Dr. Brawn uses a series of exposure therapy techniques to help Figaro gain confidence and overcome his fear. He starts by showing him a toy plane, then a real plane on a TV screen, and finally a real plane outside the window. Despite his initial apprehension, Figaro manages to board the plane and takes off, feeling proud of himself for having conquered his phobia.

Pho Is in the Air is a heartwarming episode that teaches viewers about the importance of facing their fears and seeking help when needed. Through Figaro's journey, we see that even the most irrational fears can be conquered with determination and the right support.
