Jean and his fellow adventurers arrive at an insurmountable obstacle in their quest for the Cities of Gold; the ocean. With nothing but land for miles around, the sight of the vast body of water is an unwelcome one for the group. But as they contemplate how to move forward, a merchant vessel appears on the horizon and Jean takes his chances on bartering passage aboard the vessel. The captain of the Solaris is reluctant to take them aboard, but the promise of a rare crystal is temptation enough for him to take the risk.
Once aboard, Mendoza and the others are met with skepticism and reluctance from the ship's crew. Despite the tensions, they eventually manage to find common ground with the young cabin boy, Pedro, and he becomes their ally. During their voyage, the adventurers come across a group of pirates and are forced to fight them off, gaining the respect of the Solaris crew.
As they continue their journey, Esteban and Tao are fascinated by the ship's navigation tools and the stars, leading them to a realization about how the ancient people could have crossed such vast oceans. The crew share stories of their own voyages and the hardships they face, while Zia becomes ever more frustrated with the lack of leads on the location of the Cities of Gold.
All seems to be going well until the group discovers a stowaway aboard the ship; a young boy who Mendoza recognizes as a member of a rival group of treasure hunters. The crew debate what to do with the stowaway, but after hearing his story, they decide to let him stay on board and have a peaceful co-existence.
As they near their destination, the Solaris encounters a fierce storm which puts the ship and its crew in danger. But even as the ship is being battered by the waves, Jean discovers a clue to the location of the first City of Gold. With the help of the crew, they manage to ride out the storm and continue on their journey with renewed hope.
The episode ends with the group finally reaching their destination, the first City of Gold, and the promise of more adventures to come.
