As Esteban, Tao, and Zia continue their search for the Cities of Gold, they arrive in the kingdom of Aragon where they meet Mendoza's old friend, Pedro. Pedro invites the trio to watch the Maiden Flight of the Condor, a flying machine that he has built. However, the Governor of Aragon is not pleased with the design and plans to sabotage the flight.
Meanwhile, Mendoza and Sancho are imprisoned by the Governor who wants to question them about their connection to Pedro. Mendoza reveals that Pedro is his old friend but refuses to reveal anything else.
During the Maiden Flight of the Condor, the Governor sabotages the machine causing it to crash in the forest. Esteban, Zia, and Tao go to investigate the crash site and discover that Pedro has survived. They decide to help Pedro rebuild the flying machine.
As they work to repair the Condor, the group realizes that they will need to find a more powerful energy source to make the machine fly. They learn about a rare mineral called Gorgonite that can be found in the mines of Aragon.
While searching for Gorgonite, Esteban, Tao, and Zia discover the imprisoned Mendoza and Sancho. They free them and together, the group infiltrates the mines to find the precious mineral. But the Governor has other plans and sends his soldiers to stop the children. A thrilling chase through the mines ensues, and the group must use their wits and courage to escape.
With the Gorgonite in hand, the group returns to Pedro and helps him power up the Condor. They successfully launch the flying machine, and it soars into the sky. The group is overjoyed by their success, but the Governor is enraged and orders his soldiers to capture the flying machine and its passengers.
The episode ends with the group flying away in the Condor, with the Governor and his soldiers in hot pursuit. The adventure continues as the group attempts to outrun their pursuers and continue their search for the Cities of Gold.
