In episode 7 of season 1 of The Mighty Boosh, entitled "Electro," Vince and Howard embark on a new adventure as they enter the world of electro music. Howard is initially hesitant to indulge in the new genre, but Vince is immediately hooked and jumps at the chance to attend an electro concert.
The duo heads to the concert venue, finding themselves among a throng of fans dressed in neon and sporting spiky hairdos. As they make their way through the crowd, Vince discovers that a famous electro artist, Gary Numan, is scheduled to perform that evening. Vince is excitedly ready to see his hero perform, but Howard is considerably less thrilled. Howard is feeling out of place in the strange environment, and is clearly unimpressed with the music.
After the concert, the two friends head to meet Gary Numan. However, things quickly take a turn when they accidentally stumble into the wrong dressing room. They end up face-to-face with the Boosh's own bizarro version of the electro subculture, complete with spliced-together electronic sound effects and costumes made out of wires and circuit boards.
Howard is horrified by the bizarre group and wants nothing to do with them, but Vince is intrigued and wants to learn more about this counter-culture movement. Vince stays behind to better understand the group, while Howard decides to leave.
As Vince becomes more involved with the misfit electro group, he begins to realize just how different and far-out they really are. Their music is offbeat and incorporates unconventional sounds and rhythms, and their style is eccentric and otherworldly.
Soon Vince is swept up in their unconventional lifestyle, which involves dressing in elaborate, robotic costumes and dancing wildly to electronic music. He starts to neglect his old life and friends, going so far as to completely alter his appearance with an electric shock. Howard, meanwhile, watches on from the sidelines, concerned for his friend and unsure of how to rescue him from the electro group's clutches.
As the episode progresses, Howard and Vince's perceptions of the world of electro begin to shift. Howard starts to appreciate the genre and its unique creativity while Vince begins to realize that the electro group's lifestyle is not all it's cracked up to be. He realizes that he missed his old life and friends, and decides to leave the electro group to resume his normal life. Howard is relieved, but the experience has clearly left a lasting impact on both men.
Overall, "Electro" is an entertaining and thought-provoking episode that explores themes of identity, conformity, and creativity. It's a showcase of the zany humor and unconventional style that has made The Mighty Boosh a favorite among fans of offbeat comedy.
