Ep 2. Mutants

In the second episode of The Mighty Boosh, titled "Mutants," we find our two main characters, Vince Noir (Noel Fielding) and Howard Moon (Julian Barratt), at their workplace, a run-down zoo. While Howard is busy tending to the animals, Vince is distracted by the zoo's resident goth, Saboo (played by guest star Dave Brown), who is demonstrating his mystical powers to a group of adoring fans.

After one of the zoo's animals is stolen, Vince and Howard set out to investigate and soon find themselves in the midst of a strange and dangerous world. They encounter a group of mutants who are living in the forest and have been causing trouble in the zoo's neighborhood. Vince, being the adventurous one, is excited to meet the mutants and get involved in their world, while Howard is much more cautious.

As they explore the mutants' world, Vince and Howard encounter a variety of strange creatures and characters, including a giant mutant spider and a wise old man known as The Hitcher (played by comedian and actor Rich Fulcher). The Hitcher tells them of a prophecy that foretells of a hero who will come to save the mutants from an evil force known as The Trout.

As Vince and Howard try to find the stolen animal and help the mutants, they encounter a number of challenges and obstacles, including dangerous traps and an encounter with an angry mob of locals. Along the way, they must also confront their own fears and insecurities, such as Howard's anxiety about being viewed as a hero and Vince's fear of rejection by Saboo.

Through it all, the humor and quirkiness that define The Mighty Boosh are on full display, with silly jokes and visual gags lurking around every corner. The show's surreal and imaginative world-building is also on full display, as we are introduced to a variety of strange and wonderful creatures, all lovingly brought to life by the show's talented cast and crew.

Despite being just the second episode of the series, "Mutants" is a standout installment that showcases everything that makes The Mighty Boosh such a beloved cult classic. With its unique blend of surrealism, humor, and heart, it's a show that is impossible to forget and will leave audiences eager to explore more of its strange and wonderful world.
