It's Valentine's Day in Orson and Frankie is excited to celebrate the holiday with her husband Mike. She hopes for a romantic evening, but Mike's plans for the day are quite different. He announces his plans to fix the garbage disposal, repair the mailboxes, and clean out the gutters. Frankie's disappointment is palpable, but she tries to keep her spirits up and make the best of the situation.
Meanwhile, Sue is excited to receive a Valentine's Day card from Darrin, but quickly realizes that it was actually meant for her roommate. After hearing that Darrin is spending the evening alone, Sue decides to make it her mission to find him a date. She enlists the help of Brad, Axl, and Hutch in her quest to find the perfect girl for Darrin.
Axl, on the other hand, is not in the Valentine's Day spirit at all. He is reeling from his breakup with Devin and is determined to spend the day alone. However, his plans are thrown for a loop when his ex-girlfriend shows up at his door, asking for a second chance. Axl must decide whether to take Devin back or move on and start fresh.
As the day goes on, the Heck family's Valentine's Day plans continue to unravel. Mike's attempts at home repairs go awry, Sue's matchmaking efforts lead to disastrous results, and Axl struggles to make a decision about his love life. Amidst all the chaos, the family comes together to support each other and celebrate their own unique versions of Valentine's Day.
