In The Middle season 3 episode 23, titled "The Wedding", the Hecks are getting ready for the wedding of the year. Sue is going to be the flower girl for the wedding of her unique kindergarten teacher and Brick's guidance counselor, Miss Rinsky. Meanwhile, Mike and Frankie are in a competition with each other to see who can come up with the better gift for their friends' wedding.
As the family prepares for the event, their usual shenanigans ensue. Axl and his girlfriend are fighting, Brick is trying to come up with the perfect gift for his beloved teachers, and Frankie is having trouble with her hair. Sue, on the other hand, is ecstatic to be a part of the wedding, but her joy is short-lived when she learns the groom may be having second thoughts.
As the wedding approaches, the Hecks do their best to help their friends have the perfect day. However, as things often do in the world of The Middle, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. From forgotten wedding rings to misplaced tuxedos, the Heck family is in full-on panic mode as they try to save the day.
Despite the chaos, the wedding ultimately goes off without a hitch, and Sue is able to fulfill her role as the perfect flower girl. As the episode draws to a close, the Hecks reflect on the importance of friends and family and the joy of celebrating love.
