In The Middle season 2 episode 11, entitled Taking Back the House, the Heck family is facing quite a challenge. Mike is stuck taking care of a deer that has found its way into their yard, while Frankie struggles to find a way to track down Brick's missing school bag. Meanwhile, Sue is grappling with an inner battle as she tries to figure out how to deal with the news that her best friend Carly has decided to become friends with someone else.
As the episode progresses, the family's challenges start to mount. Frankie becomes increasingly irritated as she realizes the extent of her search for Brick's bag, while Mike starts to feel overwhelmed and helpless as he tries to figure out what to do with the deer. Sue, on the other hand, decides to confront Carly head-on, but finds herself struggling to express her feelings in a way that will make any difference.
Despite all of the setbacks, the Heck family is determined to come out on top. Frankie, with the help of her daughter and Brick's school principal, devises a plan to get Brick's bag back. Mike finally finds a way to remove the deer from their yard. And Sue, after realizing that Carly may not be who she thought she was, starts to forge new friendships and embrace positive changes in her life.
As always, The Middle shines in its ability to showcase the complicated and sometimes messy dynamics of a working-class family. Taking Back the House is no exception, with each character struggling with their own unique set of challenges. However, through it all, the Heck family proves that can overcome anything, as long as they stick together and stay true to themselves.
