It's time for another field trip with Ms Frizzle and her class on The Magic School Bus Rides Again! In season 1 episode 3, entitled "In the Swim," the class learns all about the ocean and the creatures that live within it.
Ms Frizzle and her class start the episode by walking along the beach, where they meet a crab who takes them on a journey through the water cycle. They learn about the different stages of the water cycle, including evaporation and condensation, and see how it affects the ocean.
Once they arrive in the ocean, they meet a sea turtle named Tilly who shows them around. The class learns about the different zones of the ocean, including the sunlit zone, the twilight zone, and the midnight zone. They also learn about the different creatures that live in each zone and how they have adapted to their environment.
One of the most exciting parts of the episode is when the class gets to go on a deep-sea dive in a submersible. They explore the midnight zone and see some of the weirdest and wonderful creatures that live there. They even get to witness a bioluminescent light show put on by some of the creatures of the deep.
But the field trip takes a turn when they encounter a large amount of plastic waste floating in the ocean. Ms Frizzle teaches the class about the harmful effects of plastic pollution on marine life and the importance of recycling and properly disposing of waste.
Overall, "In the Swim" is an educational and engaging episode that teaches children about the ocean and the importance of protecting it. Through the use of magic and adventure, The Magic School Bus Rides Again makes learning fun and exciting for young viewers.
