Lucy the Camp Cook is the sixth episode of season three of The Lucy Show. In this episode, Lucy Carmichael (Lucille Ball) is convinced to be the cook for a campsite of 40 people. The group includes her boss, Mr. Mooney (Gale Gordon), his family, and several other guests.

Lucy's confidence is not high in her cooking abilities, but she agrees to take on the challenge for the love of the great outdoors. She soon realizes, however, that cooking for a large group in a campsite is not an easy task. She faces challenges such as a broken stove, deer stealing her bread, and food that won't cook properly on the campfire.

Despite her best efforts, she burns the sausage, overcooks the bacon, and undercooks the eggs. She is even forced to serve her guests canned food. Her only salvation is her friend and fellow camper, forest ranger Ed Simpson (Buddy Rogers), who is an excellent cook. He offers to help her, but she is too proud to accept his help.

Things only get worse when it starts to rain. With everyone stuck in the tents, Lucy tries to entertain the group by telling jokes and singing songs, but her attempts fall flat. Mr. Mooney is particularly unimpressed, and Lucy worries that she has ruined their camping trip and jeopardized her job.

Unexpectedly, Lucy's luck changes when a bear wanders into the campsite and steals all of the food. With no food left, Ed lends Lucy a hand and they manage to prepare a delicious meal together. All is forgiven, and Lucy is lauded for her bravery and resourcefulness in the face of adversity.

Lucy the Camp Cook is a classic episode of The Lucy Show, featuring Lucille Ball at her comedic best. It showcases Lucy's stubbornness and determination, as well as her ability to bounce back from a challenging situation. The episode also highlights the importance of friendship and community, as Lucy learns to rely on others when she cannot do everything on her own.
