Lucy and George Burns.
In the first episode of The Lucy Show, Lucy meets her new boss, Mr. Mooney, played by Gale Gordon. Mr. Mooney informs Lucy that she will be taking over the account for Burns Brothers, a company owned by the legendary comedian and entertainer, George Burns.
Lucy is excited about taking on such a big account, but becomes nervous when she learns that Mr. Burns himself will be meeting with her to discuss their business relationship. She tries to impress her new client by reading up on his life and work, but ends up mixing up his history with that of his famous wife, Gracie Allen.
Despite Lucy's nervousness and bumbling attempts to impress George Burns, the two eventually hit it off and even perform a little song and dance routine together. However, their partnership hits a snag when Lucy unknowingly overspends on the Burns Brothers account.
With her job on the line, Lucy tries to come up with a way to make things right. She devises a plan to use her talent for impersonations to imitate Burns and get him to agree to a higher rate that will cover the overspending. However, her plan backfires when Burns sees through her impersonation and threatens to take his business elsewhere.
In the end, Lucy comes clean about her mistake and apologizes to Burns. Moved by her honesty and sincerity, Burns agrees to stay with the company and even gives Lucy a chance to perform in his upcoming show.
The first episode of The Lucy Show not only showcases Lucille Ball's talent for physical comedy and impersonations, but also highlights her chemistry with guest star George Burns. The two legends play off each other well and their scene together is a standout moment in the episode.
Overall, the premiere episode sets the tone for the series, with Lucy getting into amusing hijinks and misadventures, but ultimately coming out on top through her humor, wit, and heart.
