The Love Boat season 5 episode 17, titled "Green, But Not Jolly/ Past Perfect Love/ Instant Family," takes place on the Pacific Princess, where the ship's crew and passengers embark on three different romantic journeys.
The first story, "Green, But Not Jolly," centers around a top-ranking executive named Martin who is sent on vacation to get over his workaholic tendencies. However, instead of relaxing, Martin meets a beautiful woman named Lily, who he quickly falls for. The second story, "Past Perfect Love," follows the reunion of former lovers, Louise and Paul, who have not seen each other in over 30 years. Louise is now working as a fashion model and Paul is a successful lawyer, but the old spark between them reignites as they reminisce about their past. However, with both of them being married, they must decide whether to give their relationship another chance or to walk away from a love that could never be.
The third and final story, titled "Instant Family," follows the journey of a young couple named Doug and Laurie, who are hoping to adopt a child. They meet Matt, a teenage boy who has been in foster care for many years, and instantly form a bond with him. However, they soon learn that Matt has a younger brother who is also in foster care and they must decide whether to take on the responsibility of raising two children.
