The Love Boat is a romantic comedy TV series that aired from 1977 to 1986. It revolves around the passengers and crew of the luxury cruise ship, the Pacific Princess, as they embark on exotic journeys with their own romantic adventures.
In season 4 episode 10, titled Captain's Triangle/Boomerang/Out of This World, the Pacific Princess sets sail for a new adventure. As usual, the guests onboard are looking for love and excitement, but this time, the crew also finds themselves caught up in a romantic entanglement.
The episode starts with Captain Stubing (Gavin MacLeod) having a difficult time deciding between two women he cares for deeply. Emily, an old flame and a college friend of his, is onboard and still harbors feelings for him. Meanwhile, cheerful widow Rosie also catches his eye. With both women on the same cruise, Captain Stubing's heart is torn between the two.
At the same time, the ship's bartender, Isaac Washington (Ted Lange), finds himself in an unexpected love triangle. He starts seeing Julie, a beautiful passenger, but soon discovers that her father is his old flame from pilot school. As tensions rise, Isaac must decide if it's worth risking his newfound romance to reconcile with his past.
Meanwhile, Doctor Adam Bricker (Bernie Kopell) and his wife Claire (Jane Wyatt) run into an old acquaintance, a psychic named Madamee Zina. She quickly makes ominous predictions that leave the couple shaken. Later, when a mysterious illness strikes one of the passengers, Madamee Zina's predictions start to seem all too real.
As the voyage continues, the passengers and crew find themselves caught up in various romantic escapades. A young couple, Terry (Shari Belafonte) and Larry (Richard Moll), who are on the brink of divorce, are given a chance to rekindle their love. Elsewhere, a middle-aged couple, Bob (Larry Storch) and Mitzi (Eileen Brennan), hope that a Mediterranean getaway can help revive their stagnant marriage.
In true Love Boat fashion, the episode offers plenty of laughs, romantic drama, and unexpected surprises. As the ship sails towards its next exotic destination, both the passengers and the crew find themselves facing unexpected twists and turns.
Overall, Captain's Triangle/Boomerang/Out of This World is an entertaining and charming addition to The Love Boat. It's a classic example of the show's unique mix of comedy, romance, and adventure that kept viewers tuning in week after week.
