Lincoln Loud, the protagonist of the show, is in a dilemma in the twentieth episode of the first season of The Loud House. He has two tickets to see his favorite band, SMOOCH, in concert with his best friend, Clyde McBride. But to his dismay, his ten sisters pitch in with their reasons to be taken along to the concert. Lincoln is initially hesitant about taking his sisters along but then decides to turn it into an opportunity to make it up to them.
The family is getting ready for the Valentine's Day dance at the Royal Woods Elementary School. Lincoln wants to use the dance as an opportunity to make it up to his sisters for taking all of them to the concert instead of just one sister. The family is eager to arrive at the dance, with each sister taking her time to get ready. Lincoln's little sister, Lily, is getting ready to come along with her siblings for the first time.
When the family arrives at the dance, they find a surprise waiting for them. The place has been decorated to look like a fair. There are several game stalls, food stands, and a Ferris wheel. The Loud siblings are thrilled to be there and start dragging Lincoln to the different attractions. To avoid disappointing anyone and making it up to them, Lincoln decides to split up and take each sister to the attraction of their choice.
Lincoln goes from one sister to the other, and his efforts to make everyone happy are futile. Each sister has a different preference, and they take so long to do what they want that Lincoln doesn't get to enjoy the dance. Finally, he has had enough and goes to sit by himself in the corner of the room. Clyde notices this and comes to cheer him up. As it turns out, Clyde has a great time hanging out with Lincoln's sisters.
Lincoln decides to take another approach. He starts taking his sisters in pairs, and that's when things start to look up. They finally reach the Ferris wheel, and Lincoln takes Lucy up with him. They bond while getting an aerial view of the fair. Lincoln then takes up Luan to the photo booth, Lisa to the science showcase, and so on. He eventually ends up with his sister, Lori.
The siblings realize that they have had the most fun when they were together in pairs. It also dawns on them that Lincoln has spent the entire night making it up to them instead of having his own fun. They decide to repay him by taking him to the Valentine's Day dance floor and making him the center of their attention for the rest of the night. They even make him the king of the Valentine's Day dance.
The Loud House Episode 20, Dance Dance Resolution/A Fair to Remember, shows the importance of compromise and communication to maintain healthy relationships within a family. The episode also highlights the importance of putting others' needs before our own, but also illustrates that it is equally important to balance that so that we ourselves can have fun. Overall, the episode is a light-hearted look at how families can work together to have fun in various situations.
