Ep 13. Absolute Power

The Lost World season 1 episode 13, titled "Absolute Power," opens with a group of explorers headed by the eccentric and wealthy adventurer named Marguerite Krux as they trek through a treacherous jungle in South America. They happen upon a hidden plateau nearly buried within the jungle and stumble into a lost world that has been untouched by time for decades. They discover an amazing variety of extinct and undiscovered species and find themselves trapped in a bizarre landscape where dinosaurs, prehistoric beasts, and devious tribes reign supreme.

The group is forced to contend with a faceless band of mercenaries and a cunning criminal named Lt. Colonel Welsh (played by Australian actor Andrew McFarlane), who are also after the incredible power source hidden in this Lost World. As they try to stay alive, they must also protect the secrets of this prehistoric world.

At the start of this exciting episode, Marguerite and her fellow explorers, John Roxton and Lord Edward Roxton, find themselves at the mercy of Lt. Colonel Welsh as he kidnaps them and steals valuable artifacts from their possession. But all hope is not lost, as the resourceful trio manages to escape from the criminals and move deeper into the lost world.

In the midst of their escape, they uncover an ancient power source that promises to be a game-changer for their future. This discovery is not made in peace, however, as everyone who is hunting for the power source is willing to kill to secure it. The criminal mercenaries and Welsh's rogue army commandeer Marguerite's hapless Dutch engineer, Fritz, forcing him to reveal where the core lies. In the tense moments that follow, the engineers are threatened with death, but they keep quiet, and it takes Marguerite's wit to turn the tables on their captures in a real skin-of-the-teeth moment.

The team fights to recover this power source and keep it from the dangerous hands of the wrong persons. In this episode, alliances will be tested, bravery will be revered, and the stakes will be higher than ever before. But, as it turns out, power can come with a price, and some lines can never be crossed. To prevent the worst from happening, the Lost World team will need more than sheer luck, and they must muster all the strength and cunning they can to ensure that good prevails over evil.
