The episode "Dear John" of The Looney Tunes Show season 2 opens with Bugs and Daffy sharing an apartment, and Daffy is struggling to pay his half of the rent. In order to earn some money, he decides to write a book - a "self-help" book that he thinks will sell like hotcakes. He spends all day locked in his room, typing away on his laptop, while Bugs tries to keep himself entertained by watching TV.
As the days go by, Bugs becomes increasingly concerned about Daffy's mental state. He starts to worry that Daffy is becoming too isolated and obsessive, and decides that he needs to intervene before it's too late.
Bugs sets out to find Daffy a girlfriend, hoping that the distraction will help him snap out of his writing frenzy. He creates a profile for Daffy on an online dating site, but is surprised to find that Daffy has already been receiving messages from a woman named Tina. Bugs sets up a date for Daffy and Tina, and insists that he come along for moral support.
The date starts out well enough, but quickly devolves into chaos when Bugs accidentally spills hot sauce on Daffy's shirt. Tina turns out to be a bit of a control freak, and Daffy can't keep up with her demands. They argue and part ways, leaving Daffy feeling even more dejected than before.
Back at home, Daffy is in a state of despair. He's lost his passion for writing, and he doesn't know what to do with himself. Bugs tries to cheer him up by taking him out for a night on the town, but they end up getting arrested for causing a disturbance. Daffy spends the night in jail, and realizes that he needs to turn his life around.
The next day, Daffy apologizes to Bugs for the way he's been acting, and offers to help him with the rent. Bugs is grateful, but he has one more surprise for Daffy. He's managed to get a copy of Daffy's book published, and it's already selling like crazy. Daffy is overjoyed, and thanks Bugs for all his help.
In the end, Bugs and Daffy are happy and content, with Daffy finally able to pay his half of the rent, and Bugs enjoying his newfound fame as the roommate of a bestselling author. It's a heartwarming episode that shows the strength of friendship, and the power of perseverance in the face of adversity.
