The Lodge season 2 episode 3, titled "Help," picks up with Skye and Sean struggling to keep up with the day-to-day demands of running The Lodge. With every passing day, it becomes clearer that they need more help if they're going to make a success of the hotel. Enter Ben, a free-spirited handyman with a thirst for adventure.
Initially, Ben's arrival seems like the answer to Skye and Sean's prayers. He's enthusiastic, hard-working, and full of ideas for how to improve the hotel. But as the day wears on, it becomes clear that Ben's approach is a little too loosey-goosey for Skye and Sean's liking. He's constantly disappearing off to pursue his latest hair-brained scheme, leaving the two of them to pick up the slack.
To make matters worse, a group of guests arrive who turn out to be more trouble than they're worth. One of them insists on bringing their pet parrot into the hotel, despite Skye's repeated warnings that it's not allowed. Another is constantly complaining about the lack of Wi-Fi and demanding that Skye and Sean fix it immediately.
As the pressure mounts, Skye and Sean start to bicker with each other. Skye resents Sean for inviting Ben to work at the hotel without consulting her first. Sean is frustrated with Skye's perfectionism and unwillingness to take risks. It seems like their partnership might be on the rocks.
It's at this point that Ben steps in and offers to mediate their conflict. He encourages Skye and Sean to see each other's points of view and work together to find a solution. In doing so, he reveals that he's not just a goofy slacker; he's actually pretty perceptive and empathetic.
Together, the three of them come up with a plan to deal with the difficult guests and improve the hotel's Wi-Fi situation. They also start to bond over their shared love of adventure and risk-taking. By the end of the episode, it's clear that Ben is a valuable addition to The Lodge team, and Skye and Sean are learning to appreciate each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Overall, "Help" is a fun and entertaining episode of The Lodge that explores themes of teamwork, conflict resolution, and risk-taking. It's a great showcase for the show's talented cast and smart writing, and will leave fans eager for more.
