Ep 5. Eye of the Beholder

One day, Kion, the leader of The Lion Guard, comes across a unique and beautiful gazelle named Dhahabu. She is the leader of a herd that lives in a far-off land and is visiting Kion's Pride Lands for a diplomatic meeting. Kion is excited to meet her, but his friend Beshte is wary of her intentions.

Meanwhile, the rest of The Lion Guard is dealing with the aftermath of the jackal attack. They discover that the jackals were merely a distraction, and that their real target was an ancient and valuable baobab tree. The team realizes that they need to protect the tree from further attacks, and Kion suggests enlisting Dhahabu's help since she has a large herd that could help protect it.

However, when Kion presents the idea to Dhahabu, she is more concerned with preserving her image than actually helping out. She fears that if her herd helps protect the tree, it will get damaged and it will hurt her reputation. Kion is disappointed and feels like he has misjudged Dhahabu's character.

The rest of The Lion Guard works to protect the tree without help from Dhahabu's herd, and they are eventually successful. Later, Dhahabu apologizes to Kion and admits that she was wrong about the importance of the baobab tree. She also confesses that she was afraid of losing her popularity and that she is learning how to be a better leader.
