The watering hole had been guarded by a large crocodile named Makuu, who is not pleased with the zebras drinking from his territory. Kion confronts Makuu and manages to persuade him to allow the zebras to drink from the watering hole.

From there, the Lion Guard leads the zebras to the Mbali Fields, where they can safely graze and thrive. The episode ends with Kion realizing that his grandfather's teachings have helped him become a great leader and protector of the Pride Lands.
