The Lincoln Lawyer is a legal drama series based on the bestselling novels by Michael Connelly. It follows Mickey Haller, a charismatic and unconventional Los Angeles defense attorney who runs his practice out of the back of his chauffeured Lincoln Town Car. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars as Mickey, taking over the role originally played by Matthew McConaughey in the 2011 film adaptation.

As Mickey takes on more cases, secrets about his past and future plans are revealed. His first ex-wife Maggie (Neve Campbell) is now running for District Attorney, putting them on opposite sides. Mickey also moonlights as a part-time ethics professor and starts mentoring a talented law student named Hayley (Krista Warner). Back at home, Mickey tries to connect with his rebellious teenage daughter Izzy.

Throughout the season, Mickey defends a wide array of clients while confronting personal and professional drama. An early case involves a young mechanic named Carlos (guest star Luis Moncada) who is accused of murdering a gang member. Mickey uncovers corruption behind the charges. He also takes on wealthy socialite Amelia (guest star Becki Newton) who is accused of murdering her lover.
