On the 32nd episode of the fifth season of The Late Late Show with James Corden, which aired on November 4th, 2019, the guests were Jessica Biel and Natasha Lyonne.
The episode opened with James Corden recapping his weekend, which included a trip to Disneyland with his family and an encounter with a rude woman in a parking lot. He then introduced his first guest, Jessica Biel, who was promoting her new Facebook Watch series, Limetown. Biel discussed the challenges of playing a journalist trying to uncover a mysterious disappearance in the fictional town of Limetown and shared some behind-the-scenes stories from the set.
Next up was Natasha Lyonne, who was promoting the final season of her hit Netflix series, Orange is the New Black. Lyonne talked about how her character, Nicky, has evolved since the first season and how emotional it was to wrap up the series after seven years. She also discussed her own directing aspirations and teased her upcoming film, The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
As always, there were some hilarious skits and segments throughout the show. In "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts," Corden and Biel played a game in which they had to answer awkward questions or eat disgusting foods (such as a cow tongue and a cricket) if they refused to answer. Later, Lyonne joined in on a game of "Soundtrack to a Rom Com" in which the three of them acted out scenes from a romantic comedy while a band played various songs to set the mood.
The musical guest for the episode was country singer Maren Morris, who performed her hit song "The Bones." During the performance, the stage was transformed to look like a forest, complete with a starry sky and twinkling lights in the background.
In between guests and skits, Corden also took some time to do his signature "Carpool Karaoke" segment with none other than Post Malone. The two drove around Los Angeles singing Post's biggest hits and stopping for some snacks along the way.
Overall, the 32nd episode of the fifth season of The Late Late Show with James Corden was an entertaining mix of interviews, skits, and musical performances. Biel and Lyonne were engaging guests with plenty of interesting stories to share, and the various games and skits kept the show fresh and fun. Fans undoubtedly enjoyed seeing Post Malone pop up for a surprise "Carpool Karaoke," and Morris' performance added a lovely touch of musical artistry to the episode.
