Ep 6. Episode 6

Uhtred and Leofric arrive in Winchester as the new King and his advisors are discussing the presence of the Danes in London. They present themselves to King Alfred, but their arrival causes suspicion among some of the other nobles. Uhtred is tasked with helping the King's army to retake London from the Danes, while also attempting to gain back his own lands from his uncle, Aelfric. He is able to use his knowledge of the Danish tactics to plan a successful attack on London, but at the cost of several lives, including an important figure to the Norsemen. Meanwhile, Alfred's wife, Aelswith, is increasingly concerned about the power of Uhtred and Leofric and their influence over the King, leading her to seek counsel from an unexpected source. Uhtred must navigate the political landscape of Wessex while also seeking revenge for the loss of his lands, making him a target for both his enemies and those who should be his allies.
