The Last Czars is a historical drama television series that follows the reign of the Romanov dynasty in Russia, focusing on the final days of Tsar Nicholas II and his family. Season 1 Episode 3 is titled "Episode 3."

The episode begins with Tsar Nicholas II and his family en route to their exile in Siberia. The family is forced to leave their luxurious lifestyle behind and adapt to a much simpler way of living. The living conditions are rudimentary, and the Romanovs are confined to a small house with limited resources. The family members struggle to adjust, as they are used to living a life of luxury, and the harsh reality of their situation sets in.

Meanwhile, revolutionaries outside of the house continue to plot their demise, and the Romanovs fear for their safety. The tsar is concerned for the wellbeing of his family, and he tries to take action to protect them. He requests additional guards to protect the perimeter of the house, but his requests are denied by the Bolsheviks.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise both within the family and outside of the house. The Romanovs are taken aback by the betrayal of some of their friends, who have turned against them. They are suspicious of their staff, and rumors begin to circulate that some of the servants may be working with the Bolsheviks.

As unrest continues to mount, the tsar receives devastating news from Petrograd (now Saint Petersburg): the provisional government that had replaced the tsarist regime after his abdication in February had been overthrown by Bolshevik forces. The tsar believes that this could be the end for him and his family, as the Bolsheviks vow to stop at nothing to eliminate the Romanov dynasty.

In this episode, we also see the emergence of Grigori Rasputin, a controversial figure who had become a confidant to the tsarina Alexandra. Rasputin's influence over the royal family began to alarm some of the nobility, who plotted to assassinate him. However, the tsarina vehemently defends Rasputin, and his survival only serves to fuel the rumors and controversy surrounding him.

As the episode draws to a close, the tsar and his family remain confined to their small house in Siberia. The situation outside is increasingly unstable, and rumors of an impending attack by the Bolsheviks continue to circulate. The Romanovs are forced to confront the reality that their comfortable life is now a thing of the past and that they may never be able to return to it. The tensions and fear of what's to come leave the audience hanging on every moment of the episode, as they wait to see what will happen next.

Overall, "Episode 3" of The Last Czars is a tense and suspenseful look at the final days of the Romanov dynasty. The episode captures the family's struggles to adapt to their new way of life, as well as the growing unrest outside of their house. While the episode provides a feeling of unease as the threat of danger looms, the audience also gets a glimpse into the relationships between members of the royal family and their staff. The ideas of loyalty, betrayal, and trust are at the forefront of this episode. The show provides a compelling look at one of history's most tragic events, as audiences become invested in the Romanovs and their fates.
