Doug and Carrie are eagerly waiting for their tax refund, but when their accountant tells them the refund has been seized by the IRS, they're left wondering where they will find the money to pay for their upcoming trip to Tennessee. Meanwhile, Arthur is becoming increasingly obsessed with finding treasure in the basement. After discovering a box filled with moldy golden 8mm films, Arthur becomes convinced that the films are extremely valuable and enlists the help of Doug and Deacon to retrieve them. However, when they try to sell the films at a flea market, no one wants to buy them. Meanwhile, Carrie becomes frustrated with Doug's irresponsible spending habits and decides to take matters into her own hands by selling some of her belongings to earn extra money for their trip. When Doug finds out, he is upset with Carrie for not discussing it with him first. As tensions rise, Doug, Arthur, Deacon, and Spence come up with a plan to make some fast cash, but their scheme doesn't go exactly as planned. In the end, the group realizes that the true value of the films was not monetary, but rather the memories they held for Arthur.
