Doug and Carrie are at a baseball game when Doug is accidentally hit in the groin with a baseball. He tries to brush it off but soon realizes he is in a lot of pain. However, he is reluctant to go to the hospital due to fear of losing his private insurance if he makes a claim.
Meanwhile, Arthur tries to sell his old house but has trouble finding a buyer. He decides to hire a realtor but ends up getting scammed and loses a lot of money.
Back at home, Carrie helps take care of Doug while he recovers but becomes frustrated with his constant need for attention. She even starts to get jealous of how much time he is spending with Arthur instead of her.
Eventually, Doug's pain becomes too much and he decides to go to the hospital. He is relieved when he finds out that his insurance will cover the claim despite his earlier doubts.
In the end, Arthur's luck turns around when Doug's coworker, Spence, becomes interested in buying his old house. And Carrie and Doug make up after having a heart-to-heart conversation about their relationship.
