The Jewish Enquirer is a British comedy series that premiered in 2020. Created by Gary Sinyor, the show features Tim Downie and Lucy Montgomery as its lead actors. The series is a satirical take on the Jewish community and its stereotypes. The show is set in London and centers around Jake Broder, a reporter at The Jewish Enquirer, a Jewish newspaper struggling to stay relevant in the digital age. The show follows Jake as he works with his colleagues to uncover stories, fight for the newspaper's survival, and maintain the traditions of the Jewish community.

The show's humor is self-deprecating and light-hearted, often poking fun at Jewish stereotypes in a lighthearted manner. For example, in one episode, Jake investigates a potential scandal involving a Jewish family's inheritance, which leads to hilarious situations and misunderstandings.

The Jewish Enquirer also delves into the lives of its main characters, exploring their personal and professional relationships. Jake, who is portrayed by Tim Downie, is depicted as a well-intentioned but often bumbling reporter who is constantly trying to prove himself to his colleagues. Lucy Montgomery plays Amanda Newman, Jake's boss and editor in chief of The Jewish Enquirer. Montgomery's character is portrayed as a stern and demanding boss who is fiercely protective of the newspaper, although she secretly harbors feelings for Jake.

The Jewish Enquirer also features a talented supporting cast, including David Bamber, Samantha Spiro, and Alexei Sayle. The series has received mixed reviews, with some critics commending its humor and social commentary while others criticizing its reliance on Jewish stereotypes.

One of the highlights of the series is its use of London as a backdrop. The show's creators use the city's Jewish neighborhoods and landmarks to great effect, creating a distinct and authentic atmosphere. The Jewish Enquirer also includes nods to Jewish culture and history, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in the subject.

Overall, The Jewish Enquirer is a witty and entertaining series that offers a fresh take on Jewish culture and media. Its use of humor and satire to explore Jewish stereotypes is a welcome departure from more serious portrayals of the community, and its talented cast and vibrant setting make it a standout show. Despite some criticism, The Jewish Enquirer is definitely worth watching for anyone looking for a good laugh and an exploration of Jewish identity.

The Jewish Enquirer is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (14 episodes). The series first aired on January 17, 2020.
