Mr. Jefferson is always looking for ways to expand his business empire and this season he has decided to purchase a new building as the headquarters for his cleaning empire. The season opener showed the Jeffersons and their friends and family chipping in to help with the renovations of the new building. The season four episode two of The Jeffersons, titled "The Grand Opening (2)" continues with the storyline of the new business venture of the Jeffersons and the grand opening of their new office building.

As the host of the evening, George takes great pride in welcoming all the guests and showing off the new office headquarters to the public. There are balloons and banners that read “George Jefferson Industries” and the guests are treated to a delicious spread of food.

However, things take a turn when George's arch-rival and competitor, Tom's brother-in-law, arrives to steal the limelight. It’s revealed that the competitor has also opened a brand new cleaning service shop, just a block away from the Jeffersons’ business. He is pursuing the same clients and the same business opportunities as the Jeffersons, and it becomes clear that this is his way of starting a business battle with the Jeffersons.

The Jeffersons are determined to not let the competitor steal their thunder. George’s wife Louise, tells him to keep the guests entertained at the grand opening ceremony, while she and the others run to the press room to issue a press release on the new location. Louise believes that the media attention that the Jeffersons receive will outshine the efforts of their competitor, helping put the reopening of their business in the limelight.

However, there is no time to develop an elaborate press release and all Louise can put together is a simple statement. She hands this to a journalist as she exits the press room.

As the Jeffersons arrive back at the grand opening party, they are greeted by the competitor, who has used this opportunity to spread negative rumors to their clients about the quality of the Jeffersons' services.

In the end, George and the other family members band together to create a new slogan for their business, which is printed and distributed to all their clients. The slogan reads "George Jefferson Industries: The Cleaning Service You Can Trust". Combined with their years of experience, the slogan helps to remind clients that the Jeffersons are a reliable and trustworthy cleaning service provider.
