George and Louise Jefferson are on their way to deliver an old piece of furniture to one of their friends. Meanwhile, their daughter-in-law, Jenny, is feeling homesick and missing her grandparents who live far away. She shares her feelings with her husband Lionel and he decides to surprise her by inviting her grandparents to come visit her. Initially, Jenny is delighted at the news, but soon becomes worried about her grandparents' reaction to her African American husband and her living situation in a predominantly black neighborhood.

When Jenny's grandparents arrive, the Jeffersons are surprised and dismayed to learn that they are bigoted and prejudiced against black people. George tries to reason with them and change their minds, but soon realizes that it will not be an easy task. Meanwhile, Louise tries to understand the reasons behind their prejudice and talks to them about her own experiences as a black woman.

As the visit progresses, tensions rise and the situation becomes increasingly uncomfortable. Lionel and Jenny have a heated argument with her grandparents, and George must intervene to calm everyone down. Eventually, after some soul-searching and heartfelt conversations, Jenny's grandparents begin to realize the error of their ways and acknowledge their prejudices. They embrace Lionel as their own and apologize for their behavior.

The episode ends with a heartwarming scene where the family comes together and shares a moment of understanding and acceptance. Despite their differences, they are able to put them aside and enjoy each other's company.
