Jamie Foxx has become a household name by entertaining us with his unique brand of music and comedy. But in addition to his stand-up comedy, Foxx was also a popular actor on television, starring in his own television show, aptly named The Jamie Foxx Show. In season 2 episode 8, entitled "Dog Pounded," Jamie finds himself in the market for a new apartment when his current place is being converted into a retail store.
Jamie enlists the help of his best friend, Braxton, to find him a new place. With Braxton's help, Jamie has high hopes for finding a great apartment in their price range. However, when they find a seemingly perfect apartment, they realize there is a catch; the building doesn't allow pets, and Jamie's beloved dog, Uncle Junior, is one of his closest companions.
Despite the building's no-pet policy, Jamie decides to keep Uncle Junior anyway and try to keep him hidden from the building's supervisors. However, keeping a dog hidden in a small apartment proves to be more difficult than Jamie had anticipated. He tries to keep the dog in a cramped closet, unable to take him outside or give him the proper exercise he needs.
As Jamie struggles to keep Uncle Junior concealed, a series of mishaps and near-misses ensues. Jamie's neighbor, Fancy, repeatedly catches glimpses of the dog, while the building's supervisor, Mr. Hawkins, becomes increasingly suspicious of Jamie's behavior.
Meanwhile, as Jamie generally struggles to hide Uncle Junior, the dog himself is having a hard time adjusting to his new living situation. He whines and barks incessantly, leading to noise complaints from neighbors and increasing the likelihood of discovery.
As the episode progresses, Jamie's attempts to conceal Uncle Junior become increasingly convoluted, leading to comedic hijinks and plenty of laughs. However, the situation spirals out of control when Jamie and Braxton throw a party in the apartment, leading to Uncle Junior's ultimate exposure.
Despite some tense moments, "Dog Pounded" ultimately serves as an entertaining, comedic episode about the lengths one will go to stay close to their furry best friend. With Jamie's charm and comedic timing carrying the episode, "Dog Pounded" provides plenty of laughs and light-hearted entertainment for viewers.
