After Jamie gets a ticket for speeding on his way to a basketball game with Fancy, he is informed that he has to attend traffic school. He is not happy about it, but decides to use the opportunity to try and impress Fancy by being the model student. However, when he shows up to traffic school late with his best friend, Braxton, he quickly realizes he's in for a long day.
The class is full of characters, including a nervous and jumpy woman, an old man who keeps falling asleep, and a know-it-all who constantly interrupts the teacher. Jamie tries to ignore them and focus on his studies, but he soon gets distracted by a beautiful woman who walks into the class late. He is immediately smitten and starts to flirt with her, much to the annoyance of the other students.
Meanwhile, Fancy is dealing with her own problems at work. Her boss has been giving her a hard time lately, and she's worried she might lose her job. When Jamie calls her from traffic school to complain about how boring it is, she tells him to focus and get it over with. She also tells him she has to work late and won't be able to meet up with him later as planned.
Back at traffic school, the class is finally dismissed, and Jamie tries to get the beautiful woman's number, but she politely declines. Jamie is disappointed but not deterred. He decides to go to her workplace to see if he can get another chance to talk to her. When he arrives, he sees she's a nurse at a hospital. Jamie comes up with a scheme to fake an injury so he can get admitted to the hospital and see her again.
Jamie's plan goes awry when he accidentally gets admitted to the psychiatric ward instead of the regular hospital ward. He quickly realizes his mistake but is unable to leave because the staff thinks he's a patient. Jamie is stuck in the ward with a colorful cast of characters, including a man who thinks he's a superhero and a woman who's convinced that aliens are watching her.
Back at the hotel, Fancy is worried sick about Jamie and decides to go to the traffic school to look for him. She arrives just in time to see Jamie being escorted out of the psychiatric ward, still dressed in his hospital gown. She is shocked but relieved to see he's okay.
In the end, Jamie explains everything to Fancy and apologizes for worrying her. Fancy forgives him and the two go back to their hotel room, exhausted from their wild day. As they settle in for the night, Jamie reflects on the madness of traffic school and realizes he's lucky to have a partner like Fancy who sticks by him no matter what.
