Set in an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean, The Island with Bear Grylls sees a group of ordinary men stripped of everything essential for survival except their wits and the clothes on their back, as they strive to stay alive. In the second season's debut episode, we see a new group of 14 British men are dropped on an island without any prior knowledge or experience of survival.

The new participants soon learn that their arrival on the island is going to be no picnic. They will have to overcome harsh weather conditions, a lack of food and water, and remote living without the luxuries of everyday life. To add to their problems, they have to face a series of new challenges that test their mental and physical toughness to the limits.

The participants, all from different walks of life, come from around the UK. They include a fashion designer, an ex-serviceman, a fitness coach, a bartender, a sheep farmer, a student, and a shop manager. They are left to fend for themselves on the island, where they have to rely on their individual skills and strengths to survive.

In Episode 1, the participants are first dropped off on the shore of the island. As they try to assess their new surroundings, they are greeted by the show's host, Bear Grylls. He gives them an idea of what to expect and outlines the series of challenges that lie ahead. The group is then split into two teams, who must work together to build shelter, find food and create a community.

The first task is to build two shelters as protection from the harsh storms that are prevalent on the island. It's a tough job, and the teams struggle to complete it before the dark. The contestants gather branches and palm leaves to use for the roof, while others dig a trench to protect the shelters from the rainwater.

Then it's time to look for food. During the day, one team gathers some coconuts, while the other tries to catch fish. However, hungry bellies start grumbling, and tempers flare. The tension between some of the participants eventually reaches boiling point and causes a major rift in the camp.

With the first night on the island, the contestants bed down in their shelter for what promises to be a long night ahead. But as temperatures drop, and the lack of food and water gets to the participants, one team decides to go rogue and take the matter in their own hands. Meanwhile, the other team becomes envious of the rogue group's successful hunt for food.
