David Banner finds himself in yet another town without a home and a means of living. This time, however, he lands a job as a laborer at a nearby factory where he is tasked with handling and transporting hazardous chemicals. But his co-workers are not particularly friendly towards him, and he also begins to experience strange occurrences that he cannot explain. He hears strange noises, and his food becomes inexplicably contaminated, leaving him feeling ill. David tries his best to ignore these occurrences, but things start to get worse when he begins to see ghostly apparitions everywhere he goes.
The Haunted is a thrilling episode of The Incredible Hulk that really highlights the dramatic and suspenseful elements of the show. As David struggles to make a living in his new community, he is forced to confront not only his co-workers but also a mysterious presence that seems to be haunting him day and night. The episode is full of tense scenes that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering what will happen next.
As always, Bill Bixby gives an incredible performance as David Banner, portraying the character's inner turmoil and struggle to keep his inner rage in check. The supporting cast is also excellent, with the factory workers playing their roles to perfection and the guest stars who appear as the ghostly apparitions adding a spooky and unsettling element to the episode.
Despite its supernatural elements, The Haunted manages to stay grounded in a real-world setting, with the story revolving around the dangers of working with hazardous chemicals and the consequences of cutting corners when it comes to safety in the workplace. The episode also tackles themes of loneliness and isolation, as David finds himself alone in yet another town, unable to reveal his true identity or make any real connections with others.
As the episode races towards its climactic conclusion, viewers will be left wondering whether David will be able to solve the mystery of the ghostly presence that seems to be haunting him, or whether he will succumb to the rage inside him and transform into the Hulk once again. The tension is palpable, and the suspense is expertly crafted, making The Haunted one of the standout episodes of season two for The Incredible Hulk.
Overall, The Haunted is a must-watch for fans of the show, as well as anyone who enjoys a good supernatural thriller. The episode is well-written, well-acted, and has a pace that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish. While The Incredible Hulk may not have been the most popular TV show of its time, episodes like The Haunted prove that it was certainly one of the most well-crafted and compelling.
