In this episode, titled "Will's Birthday," the gang is planning a surprise party for Will but things don't go as smoothly as they had hoped. The boys decide to throw the party at Simon's house, but they soon realize they have no idea how to organize a party.
Neil suggests they hire a party planner, but Will is not willing to spend that much money on his birthday. So instead, they decide to split up the tasks and take care of everything themselves. Jay is in charge of the music, Simon gets the decorations, and Neil takes care of the food and drinks. Will, meanwhile, is left to deal with the invite list.
As the day of the party approaches, the boys encounter various mishaps in their attempts to make the party a success. Simon ends up buying the wrong decorations, Jay's music is a disaster, and Neil's food doesn't turn out quite as planned. Will, on the other hand, struggles to convince people to come to his party, and ends up inviting some odd characters, including an elderly neighbor and Simon's little brother.
Despite these setbacks, the boys are determined to make the party a success, and they make the best of what they have. As the night wears on, things begin to improve. The boys start to loosen up, the music gets better, and even the food seems to taste better after a few drinks.
But just when things seem to be going well, disaster strikes. One of the guests accidentally sets fire to Simon's living room, causing chaos and forcing the boys to make a mad dash for safety. The fire is eventually put out, but not before causing some serious damage to the house.
In the end, the boys come to the conclusion that perhaps their attempts at throwing a party were doomed from the start. But despite the chaos and destruction, they still manage to have a good time. This episode showcases the hilarious misadventures of the Inbetweeners as they navigate the challenges of throwing a party and growing up.
