Ep 3. The Key West Hotel
- 46 min
The Key West Hotel is the third episode of the second season of the popular reality TV show The Hotel Inspector. In this episode, the eponymous hotel inspector, Alex Polizzi, travels to the south coast of England to visit the Key West Hotel, which is struggling to attract guests and maintain decent occupancy rates.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Alex discovers that it is located in an enviable position right on the seafront, with stunning views of the English Channel. However, the hotel itself is run-down, with shabby decor, a poorly-maintained exterior, and outdated facilities. Alex is concerned that the hotel's poor state will only deter potential guests, and she sets out to identify areas in which the hotel can improve.
One of Alex's main concerns is the lack of attention given to customer service at the Key West Hotel. She observes that many of the staff members seem disinterested and unenthused about their jobs, and that guests are not receiving the warm welcome that they should be. Alex recognizes that this is a key area in which the hotel can improve, and she sets about coaching the staff on positive communication techniques and how to go above and beyond for guests.
Another issue that Alex identifies is the hotel's food offering. She samples some of the dishes on the menu and is disappointed to find that they are poorly presented, lack flavor, and are overpriced. Alex recognizes that food is a key element of any hotel experience, and that getting it right can significantly boost a hotel's reputation. She therefore works with the hotel's chef to revamp the menu, source better quality ingredients, and ensure that guests are excited about the food on offer.
Throughout the episode, Alex also works to address issues with the hotel's cleanliness, bedding, and overall decor. She recognizes that these are all important elements of a successful hotel stay, and that the Key West Hotel needs to improve in these areas if it is to attract more guests and maintain its position as a desirable seaside destination.
By the end of the episode, Alex has worked closely with the hotel staff to implement a number of positive changes. The hotel rooms have been redecorated, the food offering has been revamped, and the staff are more welcoming and attentive to guests. Alex is confident that these changes will make a big difference to the hotel's occupancy rates and overall reputation, and she leaves the Key West Hotel satisfied that she has helped to set it on a path towards success.
