In episode 2 of The Hills: New Beginnings season 1, titled "You're Not My Family," the drama continues to unfold as the cast navigates their old friendships and explores new relationships. Stephanie and Stephanie Pratt are still at odds, with the tension between them escalating even further. Meanwhile, Spencer and Heidi are dealing with the fallout from Spencer's controversial comments about Brody's marriage.
As the episode begins, Stephanie and Stephanie Pratt are avoiding each other at a cast picnic, but tensions come to a head when they finally have to face each other. Stephanie confronts Pratt about her hurtful comments, but Pratt remains unapologetic and dismissive. The situation quickly devolves into a shouting match, with other cast members trying to intervene to no avail.
As the drama unfolds, Spencer and Heidi are trying to do damage control after Spencer made comments about Brody's marriage being fake. Heidi reaches out to Brody's wife Kaitlynn to try and smooth things over, but it doesn't go as planned. Kaitlynn is clearly upset and feels like the cast is ganging up on her and Brody.
Meanwhile, Audrina is exploring a new relationship with a guy named Sean, but she's hesitant to introduce him to her friends after her past relationship drama with Justin Bobby. Eventually, she decides to bring Sean to a cast party, but tensions are high and the night doesn't go as smoothly as she'd hoped.
In another storyline, Brody is struggling with the fact that his father isn't coming to his wedding ceremony. His mother, Linda Thompson, tries to comfort him and encourages him to be present in the moment and focus on his relationship with Kaitlynn.
The episode ends on a tense note, with tensions still simmering between Stephanie and Stephanie Pratt and Brody still reeling from Spencer's comments. As the season continues, it's clear that the drama between the cast members is far from over.
