In the first episode, titled "Episode 1," viewers are introduced to the Harper family, who are packing up their lives in the city to move to the small town of Beulah Grove. The family consists of parents Debbie and Freddie, who are both juggling their careers and raising three children – daughter Mallory, son Booker, and toddler Abby. Debbie works as an HR manager in a law firm, while Freddie is a struggling writer.
The episode opens with the family driving up to their new house, which turns out to be a rundown Victorian mansion. The mansion is located in a charming neighborhood, but it is clear that it needs a lot of work. The family enthusiastically sets to work on cleaning and unpacking, but they soon realize that the house is haunted by the ghosts of its former residents.
The ghostly activity ranges from harmless pranks to life-threatening situations, and the Harpers quickly discover that they are in over their heads. However, despite the family's initial disbelief, they soon come to accept that they are living in a haunted house and begin to embrace the supernatural occurrences. They even start to bond with the ghosts, who each have their own quirky personalities and backstories.
As the episode progresses, the family gets a taste of small town life and the quirky characters that make up the community. Mallory and Booker both start school, where they meet the eccentric principal and a group of quirky classmates. Meanwhile, Debbie attends a work event and meets a successful lawyer who challenges her to be more ambitious. Freddie, on the other hand, struggles with writer's block and finds little inspiration from the paranormal activity in the house.
Overall, the first episode of The Harper House sets up an entertaining and unique premise for this new animated comedy series. With its blend of family drama, small town charm, and supernatural elements, the show promises to be a fun and engaging ride for audiences of all ages.
