The Great Indoors season 1 episode 7, titled "At Emma," follows the staff of the Outdoor Limits magazine as they prepare for their latest assignment. Jack, the magazine's founder, is excited to have his daughter Emma come visit him and see what he does for a living. However, he soon realizes that Emma's idea of roughing it in the outdoors is very different from his, as she shows up wearing high heels and a designer dress.
Meanwhile, the rest of the staff is tasked with taking a group of tech nerds on a camping trip for an article. Clark, the resident tech expert, is frustrated with the group's lack of outdoor skills and constantly finds himself having to bail them out of trouble. Mason, the magazine's resident survival expert, is also struggling to keep up with the group's demands for wifi and other modern amenities.
As the two groups cross paths, they find themselves at odds with each other. Emma wants to spend her time in the wilderness lounging in a hammock and sipping cocktails, while the tech nerds are more interested in playing with their gadgets than experiencing nature.
Despite their differences, Jack and the rest of the staff manage to turn the trip around and show everyone that there is more to the great outdoors than just technology. Along the way, they learn to appreciate each other's unique perspectives and abilities.
Overall, "At Emma" is a lighthearted episode that explores the clash between modern technology and the great outdoors. With plenty of humor and heart, it showcases the importance of teamwork and the value of stepping outside of one's comfort zone.
