As the competition nears its end, The Great British Bake Off enters its semi-final round with a focus on patisserie. It’s now down to the final four bakers who will have to bring their A-game to impress the judges and advance to the finals.

The semi-finalists must take on three epic patisserie challenges that will test their skills and creativity. First up, they must tackle the signature challenge: a savoury palmier. The contestants must create a flaky pastry filled with a savoury filling of their choice. The judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be looking for precision, texture, and, of course, outstanding flavour.

Next, the bakers take on the technical challenge. This week’s challenge takes them outside of Britain as they attempt to make the notoriously tricky Dutch treat, Stroopwafels. The bakers must create thin, perfectly round waffles, then cut them in half and fill them with caramel syrup. This is a task that will push them to the limit, leaving no room for error or inconsistency.

Last but not least, the semi-finalists must set their sights on the showstopper challenge - a mille-feuille cake. A mille-feuille, also known as a “thousand-leaf” cake, is a French classic pastry made up of layers of puff pastry and cream. The bakers must create an innovative version of the classic dessert that takes it to a whole new level. It has to be visually stunning and perfectly balanced between its delicate layers.

As always, the pressure is immense and the stakes are high. After a season of intense challenges and stunning bakes, this semi-final will be one of the most gruelling, testing the remaining contestants to their limits. With only one episode remaining, the bakers will be giving it their all and showcasing their impressive talents.

Stay tuned to find out which baker will impress the judges with their patisserie skills and claim a coveted spot in the finals. Will they be able to handle the pressure, beat the competition, and become the next Great British Bake Off champion? Watch on to find out.
