Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond take on the American Wild West in the tenth episode of The Grand Tour season 1. The trio travels to Nashville, Tennessee, where they are tasked with shooting a film about the Old West. After a brief history lesson on the area, the hosts set off in their respective cars to film their own movies.
At first, everything seems to be going smoothly, with the hosts filming picturesque landscapes and trying their hand at cowboy activities such as cattle roping and shooting. However, tensions soon arise when May insists on wearing a cowboy hat that Hammond insists looks ridiculous. This leads to a heated argument between the two, with Clarkson trying to play the peacemaker.
Things escalate when the hosts reach their destination: the famed O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona. The plan is for the hosts to reenact the legendary 1881 gunfight, with each host playing the role of one of the cowboys involved. However, things quickly devolve into chaos when it becomes clear that the hosts have no idea what they're doing. May tries to cheat at the game, which leads to Clarkson and Hammond getting into a fistfight.
The situation only gets worse when the hosts decide to split up and each film their own version of the gunfight. Things quickly spiral out of control, with each host getting increasingly ridiculous in their attempts to one-up the others. May wears a tutu during his scene, Hammond dresses up as a pirate, and Clarkson rides in on a horse.
Despite the chaos, the hosts do manage to film their respective movies, and the episode ends with a screening of all three films in front of a live audience. The films are predictably terrible, with the hosts each trying to outdo each other with ridiculous stunts and over-the-top special effects.
Overall, The Grand Tour season 1 episode 10 is a hilarious romp through the Wild West, with the hosts once again proving that they are the ultimate masters of chaos and mayhem.
