Alicia's son, Zach, has been accepted into college, but the celebratory mood is dampened by a hazing incident that puts the school's reputation in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Lockhart & Gardner negotiate the departure of a partner from the firm. Will Gardner takes the lead on this case, but he's dealing with a number of issues of his own. With an ethics violation hanging over his head and his old flame, Judge Summers, resurfacing in his life, the last thing Will needs is more conflict. All of this stress is affecting his judgment, and he finds himself making mistakes that could cost the firm dearly.
Elsewhere, Eli Gold is scrambling to find a way to discredit an opponent who is threatening Peter's re-election campaign. He enlists the help of Kalinda Sharma, who uncovers some incriminating evidence, but it comes at a cost - she has to call in a favor from a powerful figure from her past.
As the various storylines converge, tensions rise and alliances are tested. Alicia teams up with the mother of the hazing victim to take on the school, while Will has to decide whether to prioritize his personal life or his professional responsibilities. Kalinda's loyalty is also tested when she realizes that her actions have unintended consequences that could have serious repercussions.
In the end, all of the characters are forced to confront the consequences of their actions. Some make amends, while others suffer the consequences of their misguided decisions. The episode ends with the characters in a state of flux, unsure of what the future holds for them and the people they care about.
