The Gong Show is a wacky yet entertaining television series that puts a twist on the traditional talent show format. Hosted by comedian and actor, Tommy Maitland, the show features an assortment of contestants who showcase their unique talents for a chance to win a cash prize of $2,000. However, there's a catch. The fate of each act is left up to the discretion of a celebrity panel of judges who have the power to gong a contestant off the stage if they're not impressed.

In season 1, episode 1, the judges include the likes of Will Arnett, Ken Jeong, and Zack Galifianakis. As the show begins, Tommy Maitland appears on stage and introduces the judges to the audience with his signature flair. The theme of the episode is "Stranger Things," and the contestants' acts are all inspired by the popular sci-fi television show.

The first act features a duo who perform a mind-bending, acrobatic routine with a unique twist - they do everything upside down. As they dangle from the ceiling, the judges' faces are filled with wonder and amazement. However, things take a turn when one of the judges starts to feel a bit queasy and decides to gong the act off the stage.

The next act is a musical performance by a man dressed in full-on Eleven cosplay. He performs an original song about his love for Eggo waffles, which garners some laughs from the judges. Will Arnett is quick to point out that the song is fairly basic and Ken Jeong can't help but compare the contestant's voice to that of William Hung from American Idol. Despite the judges' criticisms, the contestant manages to make it to the final round.

Other acts include a group of dancers who perform a unique routine inspired by the infamous "Demogorgon" monster from Stranger Things, as well as a magician who hilariously fails to make his act disappear. However, perhaps the most unexpected act of all is a man in a full-blown Steve Harrington costume who performs a dance routine to "You Make My Dreams" by Hall & Oates. The judges can't help but laugh and clap along to the performance, which earns the contestant a spot in the finale.

In the final round, the three remaining contestants perform a variety of acts, including an impressive juggling routine and a uniquely bizarre vocal performance that features the use of a kazoo. The judges deliberate and ultimately choose a winner, who is awarded the cash prize and showered with confetti as they celebrate their victory on stage.

Overall, season 1, episode 1 of The Gong Show is a wild and entertaining ride, filled with unexpected acts and hilarious moments. The celebrity judges bring their own unique brand of humor and criticism to the table, making for an engaging viewing experience. Whether you're a fan of Stranger Things or just enjoy watching off-the-wall talent shows, this episode is sure to leave you entertained and wanting more.
