Blanche, Dorothy, and Sophia are having breakfast at the kitchen table when Rose comes in, clearly upset. She tells them that her long-distance boyfriend, Miles, has not been returning her phone calls or letters, and she is worried something has happened to him. The girls try to reassure her that everything is okay, but Rose insists that Miles is the love of her life and she needs to find out what happened to him.
Dorothy suggests that Rose go see a psychic, Madame Zelda, who has helped her in the past. Although skeptical at first, Rose agrees to go with Dorothy to see Madame Zelda. When they arrive, Madame Zelda tells Rose that Miles is not dead, but he has fallen in love with someone else. Rose is devastated and refuses to believe it, but Madame Zelda insists that it is the truth.
Back home, Rose is inconsolable. Blanche and Sophia try to comfort her, but she is convinced that Miles is still in love with her. Blanche suggests that Rose try to win Miles back, and Sophia tells her to forget about him and move on with her life. The girls argue back and forth until they finally decide to help Rose win Miles back.
The next day, the girls come up with a plan to show Miles how much Rose loves him. They decide to throw a surprise party for him at the house. Dorothy calls Miles and tells him that she has a surprise for him and to come over to the house at 7 pm sharp.
That evening, Miles arrives to find the house decorated with balloons and streamers. Rose is dressed in a beautiful gown and is waiting for him at the top of the stairs. The girls have prepared a special dinner and have even baked a cake for Miles. As they sit down to eat, Rose tells Miles how much she loves him and how she can't imagine her life without him. Miles is clearly touched but still hesitant.
After dinner, the girls start dancing and Rose takes Miles by the hand and leads him to the dance floor. They dance together for a while, and Miles finally admits that he still loves Rose but he is scared to commit to a long-distance relationship. Rose tells him that she understands and that she is willing to take the risk.
In the end, Miles agrees to give their relationship another chance, and the party continues late into the night. The girls celebrate Rose's happiness and the power of love.
Love, Rose is a heartwarming episode that explores the power of love and the lengths we will go to in order to keep it alive. The Golden Girls prove once again that they are more than just roommates; they are a family who support one another through thick and thin. This episode will make you laugh, cry, and most importantly, believe in the power of love.
