Ep 4. Animal House

Beverly Goldberg and Murray Goldberg are back with their three children in season 7 of The Goldbergs. In this episode titled "Animal House," the family finds themselves dealing with a wild pet they never intended to have.

Adam Goldberg, the middle child, has been wanting a pet for years. He's gone through phases of wanting a dog, a cat, a lizard, and even a squirrel. However, his parents Beverly and Murray have never given in to his requests. That all changes when a wayward hamster comes into their lives.

Adam stumbles upon the hamster while visiting his best friend Dave Kim's house. Dave's younger brother is a bit of a hoarder and has an extensive collection of small animals living in his room. When Adam expresses his desire for a pet, Dave's brother suggests he take the hamster he found in his closet. Adam doesn't hesitate to take the hamster home with him and is overjoyed to finally have a pet.

Beverly and Murray are less thrilled about the new addition to their home. They're already dealing with a house full of teenagers and don't have the time or energy to take care of another creature. They try to persuade Adam to give the hamster back to Dave's brother, but Adam is adamant about keeping the hamster.

As time goes on, the family begins to realize just how much work a pet can be. The hamster, who Adam has named "Hammy," is constantly making noise and escaping from his cage. Beverly and Murray struggle to keep up with Hammy's antics while also dealing with their other responsibilities. They start to see just how much Adam had been asking for when he begged for a pet all those years.

Meanwhile, Eric Goldberg, the oldest son, is dealing with his own issues. He's enrolled in a college course that he's struggling with and needs to pass in order to keep his scholarship. When he realizes he needs help, he turns to his siblings for assistance. Adam and Erica Goldberg, the youngest daughter, do their best to help Eric study for his upcoming exam.

Eric's studying quickly becomes a family affair as Beverly, Murray, and even Hammy all pitch in to help. They create a study schedule, make flashcards, and even come up with a catchy song to help Eric remember important facts. While they may not be thrilled about the extra work, they're all happy to help Eric achieve his goals.

As the episode progresses, the family deals with even more chaos and unexpected events. Erica has her own set of problems to deal with when her boyfriend's evil ex-girlfriend comes back into the picture. She turns to her mother for advice on how to handle the situation. Meanwhile, Adam is trying to sell his homemade T-shirts to his classmates in order to raise money for a new pet.

Through it all, Beverly and Murray try their best to keep the family together and navigate through the ups and downs of parenthood. As always, they do it with humor, heart, and plenty of love.

Overall, "Animal House" is a hilarious and heartwarming episode of The Goldbergs that showcases the family's ability to rise to any challenge that comes their way. It's a must-watch for fans of the show and anyone who loves a good family comedy.
