Beverly, Erica, and Barry are all excited for the upcoming Phillies baseball game, but Adam is more interested in seeing the movie Major League. The three try to convince Adam to come to the game with them, telling him it will be a great bonding experience. Adam eventually agrees, but only if they can watch Major League afterwards.
The day of the game, the family arrives at the stadium, but Adam is disappointed to find out that the game is sold out. Beverly, determined to make the day a success, decides to buy scalped tickets for the four of them. However, the tickets turn out to be counterfeit, and the family is denied entry to the game.
Determined to make the most of the day, Beverly and the kids decide to tailgate in the parking lot. They set up a makeshift grill and start cooking hot dogs, but they quickly run out of fuel. Desperate, Beverly goes to a nearby RV to ask for help, but ends up inadvertently stealing the RV when she mistakes it for their own.
Meanwhile, Murray is left home alone with Pops and Adam's friends, Dave Kim and Geoff Schwartz. Initially excited to have the house to himself, Murray quickly becomes overwhelmed by the chaos caused by the boys. The three wreak havoc throughout the house, but Murray ultimately manages to get them under control by challenging them to a game of poker.
Back at the stadium, Beverly and the kids continue to party in the RV. However, they soon discover that they are not alone when they hear a loud banging coming from outside. They investigate and find a man in a Phillies uniform trying to break into the RV. Beverly, Erica, and Barry try to fight him off, but are ultimately unsuccessful. Just as things are looking bleak, Adam comes up with a plan inspired by his beloved movie, Major League.
The family joins forces with the man in the Phillies uniform and concoct a plan to sneak him into the game by dressing him up as a hot dog vendor. The plan is successful, and the family watches the rest of the game from the stands. After the game, they all head back to the RV to watch Major League as promised.
In the end, the family realizes that their day was filled with unexpected adventures and bonding, despite not actually getting to see the game. They all agree that it was one of the best days they have ever had together.
