The Glory is a South Korean drama series that premiered on Netflix in 2022. The thrilling and emotional story follows Moon Dong-eun, a woman who seeks revenge on her high school bullies who made her life miserable. As a child, Moon Dong-eun was a bright student with big dreams for her future. But those dreams were shattered when a group of wealthy and popular students at her prestigious high school began relentlessly bullying her. The trauma from the bullying caused Dong-eun to drop out of school and left deep emotional scars.

Years later, Dong-eun re-emerges with a new identity, new looks, and a meticulous plan for vengeance. Now an accomplished architect, Dong-eun ingratiates herself with her former bullies, who are now successful adults in prominent careers and family lives. Getting close to them is the first phase of her intricate revenge plot.

Dong-eun's main tormentors back in high school were Park Yeon-jin, Joo Seo-hyun, Lee Sa-ra, and Jeon Jae-yi. Dong-eun maneuvers events to become entangled in each of their lives, intent on bringing them down from their positions of power and status. She is cunning, patient, and ruthless in seeking her idea of justice.

Much of the show delves into events of the past through flashbacks from Dong-eun's school days. We learn the full extent of the brutal bullying she endured, from degrading insults to physical abuse. Young Dong-eun is portrayed as a sensitive, artistic soul brought to despair through the cruelty of her privileged classmates.

In the present day, Dong-eun maintains the façade of a friendly, mild-mannered professional. But underneath she harbors immense pain and rage, meticulously planning her next moves. However, cracks in her armor appear during intimate moments with her first love, as she struggles between maintaining her cover and seeking genuine connection.

The Glory examines the corrosive effects of unchecked power and privilege among the elite. It explores how bullying can create monsters out of both the perpetrators and the victims. Despite her mission of vengeance, Dong-eun grapples with questions of morality and justice as she inflicts psychological torment on her former bullies.

Led by an outstanding performance from lead actress Song Hye-kyo, The Glory delivers a gripping narrative of revenge, redemption, and the darkness of the human psyche. With richly drawn characters facing off in a high stakes game of retribution, the lines blur between justice and cruelty. The show maintains a state of high tension as Dong-eun enacts her clever schemes, leading to a riveting and surprising climax.

The Glory is a series that ran for 1 seasons (16 episodes) between December 22, 2022 and on Netflix
