One week after the events of the pilot episode, the Strucker family, along with the underground mutant group, is still on the run from Sentinel Services. Reed Strucker is desperate to find a way to take the collars off his children and restore their abilities, so he turns to his estranged father, a former lawyer for the company that created them. Meanwhile, Caitlin Strucker and Eclipse set out to find a special serum that could temporarily suppress the powers of mutants, in order to rescue Polaris from Sentinel Services. Jace Turner, the lead agent on the case, becomes increasingly obsessed with capturing the mutants and starts to use increasingly brutal tactics to get results. Amidst all of this chaos, a new mutant named Pulse, who has the ability to detect other mutants, makes his presence known and causes concern for both the Strucker family and the underground group. As the stakes get higher and the danger increases, alliances are tested and tensions run high as everyone tries to survive in a world that rejects them.
