The Gene Autry Show season 5 episode 10, titled "Saddle Up," follows the adventures of Gene Autry, a singing cowboy and his sidekick Pat Buttram. The episode begins with Gene and Pat getting lost in the desert during a snowstorm. They eventually stumble upon a ranch owned by a wealthy oilman named Stoner. Stoner is a kind man who offers Gene and Pat a place to stay until the snowstorm subsides.
During their stay at the ranch, Gene and Pat learn that there is a feud between Stoner and his neighboring rancher, Bart Ramsey. Ramsey wants to build a dam on his property, but the construction would cause the river to dry up and negatively affect Stoner's land. Stoner offers to buy Ramsey's land in order to prevent the dam from being built, but Ramsey refuses.
Gene and Pat decide to help Stoner by finding a way to convince Ramsey to sell his land. They come up with a plan to pose as a couple of wealthy investors interested in building a resort on Ramsey's property. They offer to pay Ramsey a large sum of money for his land and persuade him to sell.
However, their plan is jeopardized when Ramsey's daughter falls in love with one of the hired hands at Stoner's ranch and confesses to her father that she doesn't want to move away from him. Ramsey realizes that his love for his daughter is more important than money and decides to sell his land to Stoner.
In the meantime, Gene and Pat discover that one of the hired hands at Stoner's ranch is actually a wanted criminal. They apprehend him and turn him over to the authorities.
The episode ends with Gene and Pat bidding Stoner farewell and riding off to their next adventure.
Overall, "Saddle Up" is a classic western episode filled with action, adventure, and a touch of romance. As always, Gene Autry's signature singing and guitar-playing add an extra layer of entertainment to this already exciting episode.
