It is a beautiful day in the farm where Jon, Garfield and Odie are visiting and enjoying the vast landscape around them. However, the peaceful rural surroundings are disturbed when a strange, unidentifiable noise echoes in the distance. Naturally curious, Garfield and Odie go to investigate the origin of the sound while Jon stays behind.
As they get closer to the source of the noise, Garfield and Odie begin to hear bleating sounds of a sheep. They soon discover a young sheep named Wooly, who is lost and alone and can't get back to her herd. Wooly is grateful for the help of Garfield and Odie, but the search mission proves harder than anticipated. The farm is full of animals that are known for their flirtatious and talkative personalities which make things harder when trying to be stealthy.
Meanwhile, Jon discovers that something has been eating all the yummy leaves off of his favorite cabbage plants. Frustrated, he sets out to find the culprit responsible for the destruction. Little does Jon know, he will soon cross paths with the exact herd of sheep that Wooly belongs to.
As the animals get increasingly riled up, our furry hero, Garfield notices that the animals are being unusually quiet. The previously noisy animals have suddenly gone silent, making it nearly impossible to accomplish their mission to find Wooly's flock. Garfield and Odie quickly realize that the cause of this is the new scarecrow that has been set up on the farm.
It seems that the highly realistic-looking costume of the scarecrow is causing the animals to become frightened and keeping them from making any noise. Garfield decides that it's up to him to put a stop to this madness and reassures the animals that there is nothing to be scared of. With Garfield's help, the animals regain their courage and decide to ignore the scarecrow.
During the search party for Wooly's flock, Jon continues to unjustly blame the sheep as the culprits responsible for the destruction on his farm. He eventually sees Wooly's flock eating a bunch of leaves off of trees in his orchard, but doesn't stop to question the fact that they aren't eating the cabbage, nor does he even recognize Wooly in the herd of animals.
As Garfield, Odie, and Wooly make their way back to the flock's herd, they notice that something is not quite right. It seems the herd is constantly on the move and is not staying in one place for too long. This prompts Garfield to ask the sheep why they are on the move so much. The sheep's response surprises Garfield, and ultimately saves the day for all the farm's animals.
The episode ends with Garfield, Odie, and Jon learning a valuable lesson about jumping to conclusions and being quick to blame others. They realize that their assumptions about Wooly’s flock being the culprits behind the damaged crops were wrong, and that they should have taken the time to get to know them before making any accusations. In the end, everyone is happy, and the animals can finally move around freely without being afraid of the pesky scarecrow.
